Answers to Q1-3: Because Aristotle said so many thousand years ago that man is a social animal. Which is a statement which holds true 90% of the time, because come what may there can be nothing worse than the thought of being bereft of all human company/thoughts. Of course for the remaining 10%, we need to break the cycle once in a while, and not seek to impress others, not share thoughts with others and not need others. But then it is only to ensure that we maintain our sanity in a world which is a horribly complex world of a infinite number of factors swilled together.
Answer to Q-4: The word "selfishness" used to mean in the old-fashioned Queen's language, a vice by which one ensured one's personal comfort at the risk of others losing theirs, which of course was justified in certain cases. Then a Russian lady called Ayn Rand with her own version of English decided that it was the word for a hitherto unappreciated great human virtue responsible for ALL AND I MEAN ALL of mankind's progress. It is to her misunderstanding of the English language that you owe your confusion. Please refer to Oxford ALD to resolve all your doubts.
Answer to Q-5: The definition of laziness is to start a blog, post only questions and then leave it to people who post comments to fill in the answers.
Answer to Q-6: 'Ego' is a double-edged sword which has led to the rise of many great men and also the downfall of an equal number. It's a necessary evil, can't live with it, can't live without it.
Answer to Q-7: Bravery is to put yourself into a risky situation knowing fully well that the gains to be had may be worth nothing at all. Bravery is also about giving as much importance to the means as to the end. That I believe is the dividing line between bravery and desperation. A criminal is desperate using all means possible to reach the top (Case in point Dhirubhai Ambani), while a brave man is one who toughs it out like a true champion knowing fully well that his adherence to morality might cost him the prize (Case in point Mahatma Gandhi).
Answer to Q-8: That's for you to find out!
